USF Policy Lab
Branding, Storytelling, Web Design & Social Media
Spring 2026
When a group of interdisciplinary faculty wanted to form the USF Policy Lab, they knew design would be part of the solution. Students in the Community Engaged Design class worked through an intensive semester-long project to create a brand that reflected their identity and goals. Through interviews, ethnography and research students went through an entire Design Thinking process to build a campaign showcasing the Policy Lab’s unique position in the city. USF Policy Lab stakeholders wanted to showcase their connection with the city, data backed analysis, competence and a hope for a positive future. Designers created the brand and story arch for Policy Lab which was implemented in a new website, social media, brochures, posters, and merch. Additionally we designed policy reports, press release templates, and research posters that featured Policy Lab research.
